Winter is a particularly difficult time for those who find themselves homeless. They face the very bleak reality of having to endure our harsh winter season, exposed to the elements on the streets of the Mother City.
The Hope Exchange provides ablution facilities to allow clients to have a warm shower and wash their clothes, blankets to keep warm and access to hot meals. In addition, we make clothing, toiletries and other essentials available to our homeless community.
It is at this time of year the homeless need our help the most. Demand for The Hope Exchange’s services increase significantly during winter and we need your help to provide the basic services our clients so desperately require. We support the City of Cape Town’s Winter Readiness Programme but, the sad reality is that there are just not enough resources, funding and beds available for the more than 14 000 people who call the streets their home.
Please make winter more bearable for those who need it the most by donating to The Hope Exchange and help us support the homeless through the winter season.
